Superkids Breakout
1st graders at Seneca Street Elementary School were faced with a challenge.  Superkid Cass's cat Coconut, hid her recipe card!  This was a disaster because Cass was looking to make tasty treats for the Superkids picnic, as described in the Superkids story "At the Pond."  The picnic started in 30 minutes... were students able to solve the mystery, find the recipe card, and make the tasty treats in time?
     Thanks to some critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication, all of the first grade students were able to find codes that opened the locks on their breakout box.  Inside students found the hidden recipe card and a special ingredient (chocolate chips).  Once students had the recipe they worked together to make tasty treats they could enjoy just like the characters in their story.
